I'm sure you'll hear about the "great clubs" in Rome, and how dancing and drinking beer is the thing to do, but I beg to differ. That's considered a good time in the US, but, quite frankly, if I travel all the way to Rome, Italy, I want to party the way the Romans do. When I was in Rome, I had made some friends in the city during the day. When we asked them what they do at night, they said they would show us. We went to a local liquor store and bought some rather inexpensive wine. From there, we walked around the city and just enjoyed hanging out with the people and chatting with them (after all, most people speak english). We were a group from all over the world, the US, Slovenia, Italy, Australia, and it was a great time. We stopped in the grass in front of the colosseum and just hung out. We walked through the piazzas and spent time with the locals drinking wine. We enjoyed the late night entertainment of the city the way the locals enjoy it. I'm sorry, but if you want to listen to American music and drink American beer in an American club in Rome, why not just go to the US?

American-students-in-Rome-style) with Char, some of her flat-mates and Paul
(another camp friend who'd just flown in for a visit!).
Friday I once again braved the rain to see the Trevi Fountain (now
that… when in Rome... |
