Parrot Key Hotel and Resort Key West Reviews
Bless you little peace of Heaven May 26, 2016
The Parrot Key resort. A small piece of peace and quit, a place to relax, have a good time. And all of that in a very green environment.
We stayed at the resort for 2 nights. It is listed as a 4 star hotel/resort and I can guarantee that it is indeed a 4 star hotel/resort!
The resort counts 148 rooms and though it was almost fully occupied during our stay it never once felt crowded. It is very green and the spread of the pools makes it easy to feel alone in the crowd, in a good way :).
We stayed in room 12A. All the rooms are located in little houses surrounding the pool. We stayed in a room with 2 queen size beds. When you enter you first come into a hallway which you share with the people using the room located upstairs. Each having there own front door. I really liked this as it gives you a home kind of feeling. Both doors (the door to the hallway as well as the "real" front door) are opened with a key-pass.
Entering there is a small kind of hallway with a mirror and a place to hang jackets on the right and the bathroom on the left. Walking into the room you see the 2 beds in front of you and a big closet which locates the tv, fridge and safe. On the side there is a small table with a coffee machine and also a small closet.
The bathroom has quit a big shower, a toilet and a sink. There is also a hairdryer. Shampoo and conditioner are also provided. They really smelled nice, the first time I ever thought that, most of the time the smell disappoints, not this time.
Walking to the backdoor will lead to the porch with two chairs and a table. I so loved this! A cute little porch with chairs, had a lovely sunset an some quit time with the hubs up there :). The stairs will take you down to your own sunbeds and peace of "beach." Though the beach is nothing more then a lot of sand, you are not literally at the ocean.
Breakfast is served as an a la carte menu which I liked a lot. The food was great, service could have been a bit faster though they where very friendly. There is also the possibility to grab lunch. The breakfast area is located besides the biggest pool. The resort has a total of 4 pools. though all a nice size, not to big and definitely not overcrowded.
There is a free shuttle service to the beach as well as to the historic center of Key west. You do need to make reservations in advance. It is also possible to drive yourself to the center though parking can be a bit difficult, though not impossible.
Over all I wished we stayed longer and I would definitely go back here!
