Parque de Maria Luisa Sevilla Reviews
Relaxing space of green paradise Nov 12, 2010
The Parque de Maria Luisa is a great urban retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Sevilla. The park is vast in size and contains many green spaces of lush paradise, nice walkways and seating, and wonderfully punctuated with water features.
The green spaces are really lovely to walk through, and the dense network of trees provides a buffer from the noise and heat. I didn’t go in the summer, but I strongly suspect that the flowers would make the place look more stunning. The water features are really nice too, and the Plaza de Espanya is technically part of the park too, so this is a very nice section of the park to visit too.
The people that go to the park are very diverse too, from tourists, to the locals who are out jogging, taking a stroll during their lunch break or are there with their families. This was lovely to see, since this public park is for free and genuinely seems to be enjoyed by all sections of the community. Horse and carriage rides are available, and there seem to be plenty of sellers of roasted chestnuts, drinks and snacks near the outskirts of the park.
The Parque de Maria Luisa is definitely worth visiting if you are heading down to Sevilla, weather permitting of course!
