Beautiful and Tranquil Park in Uruapan Apr 24, 2008
The Eduardo Ruiz National Park is named after a historian who wrote legends about this area. The park entrance is at the bottom of the hill where paved trails wind up and through beautiful luscious scenery by the Cupatitzio River. You will encounter many fountains and waterfalls on your way up to the spring where it all begins, the Rodilla Del Diablo, meaning the devils knee. The park holds a trout tank and has an environmental education camp. There are food and refreshment stands along with park benches throughout the park. I visited this park in Dec. of 2004, so I cant remember how much the admission was, but I know it was no more than a few pesos. Be sure to bring a sweater if you are visiting in the colder months because it is in the mountains, and be sure you are willing to hike a little way up hill.
