Beautiful nature Aug 31, 2011
When I was in Uruapan downtown I could not believe this city could have such a wonderful park. The Parque Nacional Barranca del Cupatitizio is also known as the Parque Nacional Uruapan and Parque Nacional "Eduardo Ruiz". It's a marvelous sanctuary for almost 90 varieties of plants, reptiles, owls, frogs and many other animal species. You could bring your family and spend a wonderful Sunday walking by its many waterfalls and fountains.

I was surprised by how well taken care of is this park. Everything is impressively clean. Unfortunately I didn't have much time, so I basically ran through it, but it really deserves at least one full morning to really enjoy it and appreciate it. This place is the best thing to do in Uruapan and really a wonder.

That's cool! I was surprised because the city where this park is (Uruapan) is nothing special with the exception of the park. Fortunately there are many other interesting cities around to make a full itinerary :)
