Parque Condor Otavalo Reviews
Rehabilitation centre for Andean birds May 16, 2009
For a few US$ you can bring a visit at this Parqua Condor. Actually it's a rehabilitation centre for injured birds from the Andes. You can see a lot of different birds that you normally won't or very rarely see in wild. Some of them are falcons, eagles, hawks, owls and the most giant bird of all the Condor with a wing span of 3 meters!
At given times there will be birdshows as well. I was there for not a very long time, so didn't had the opportunity to see a show.
The only way to get there from Otavalo is by taxi. When you are there you have to ask the staff for calling you a taxi back to the town. It took a while before it was there of course. It was actually not even a real taxi, it was just a young woman with her child that brought us back down to town. Anyway, we had a ride back!
You had really magnificent views from the park. At one point you could see the town of Otavalo and in other directions you had great views into the mountains that surounded the place a bit.
