Parkside Inn Motel Melbourne Reviews
Budget but comfortable. Dec 22, 2015
We stayed ay the Parkside Inn Motel for 11 nights during our recent holiday to Melbourne.
We chose Parkside due to its location as well as the price. We only needed to use it for sleeping and showering as we would be spending so much time with my sister's family.
It is located right on the lines for the 86 Tram from City Waterfront to Bundoora RMIT. This line takes you right into the centre of the city.
It is also located near a Woolworth supermarket and small amount of dining options (fast food, Gloria Jeans.)
If you have children, the nearby Bundoora Park is a positive too. Bundoora Park offers many playgrounds and well as open spaces and an animal park.
The staff there were very helpful and said to let them know if we didn't want housekeeping to service the room. Although on some days we said we didn't want housekeeping, the room was still serviced.
We found the shower to be quite spacious however the toilet was a little tight to access. The sink was in a alcove separate to the shower and toilet.
Now the negatives. The motel is budget, the rooms are looking a little old and tired. That didn't bother us too much as we didn't spend too much time in the room.
The bathroom door is a sliding door and was jammed so in the mornings, the 2 skylights in the bathroom filled the room with light. It wasn't until the 2nd night that we got the cranks and shoved the door and finally got it unstuck. From them on we had a dark room.
The parking spaces are quite tight however I believe they do have more parking across the street. We didn't want to put the car over there so we put up with the tight spaces.
And recently the motel hit the newspapers with the discovery of a man murdered in one of the rooms.
Would I stay there again? Maybe, it is located well so I might stay there again when travelling to Melbourne.
