Well I don’t think I know anybody who really appreciated a parking fine in any place, but in Norway they are quiet expensive. I got a fine of 700 Nkr for parking in front of a hotel.

I hate parking tickets; to me it is just another tax implemented by the local municipality in order to empty the citizens pockets, and especially tourists.

If I look at Brussels where people park like you can’t believe, things do still move and people always finds a workaround. That’s why I totally dislike parking tickets.

Let me put my 2 cents on this. In New York City, the fine for 'No Standing' or 'Double Parking' is $115. It used to be $65 but it was raise a few years ago. This is really highway robbery. I recently got 3 tickets parking in Queens, NY. Two for $115 and the other for $45 - supposedly on a 'No Standing' block. When I came to review the street, the red sign was painted over, it was unreadable. Hence, I wrote a letter + took pictures of
the street. The response I got was reduced to $90 instead each - $180. So, I went to traffic court in person. I stated my case to the judge and showed my evidence. I was found 'Not Guilty'. No payment of $230 needed.
