Park Skałki Twardowskiego Krakow Reviews
Park Skałki Twardowskiego and the Zalew Zakrzówek Oct 22, 2008
This park is situated in the Southwest of the City of Krakow. It's a cliffy region with a lot of caves, which came to existence at the same time as the Carpathians.
For bikers, this park is ideal to let off steam. However, it can be quite dangerous as some of the trails are very steep. There have already been some fatal accidents.
Nearby the park there's the Zalew Zakrzówek. It emerged when in 1990 an old stone pit was flooded and is now used for diving (http://www.kraken.pl/).
Under the water, one can find some cars, a bus and even a changing room and a stone table, which reminds of Karol Wojtyła.
Especially in the summer there are lots of locals. However, it's still not a typical tourist attraction, so that one can get away from all the rush in the City, climb around in the rocks, make a campfire, etc.
I was there twice this weekend and everytime I found it great, that you can find such a wonderful piece of nature in the middle of the City life.
