Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa Cansaulim Reviews
Awesome Beach Resort in SW India Jul 20, 2016
I traveled to Goa, India back in March for a defense trade show. Goa is a resort town; it is NOT set up for business travel in the way that a more cosmopolitan city, such as New Delhi, would be. The hotels are designed for seclusion and relaxation as opposed to business convenience. Having laid the groundwork of how I got to go to Goa, now I will complement the Park Hyatt Goa. Located in south Goa, quite a hike from the bustling night life of north Goa, the Park Hyatt is tucked way back off of any main roads, settled on a large piece of pristine, beach front. The hotel is set up in a bungalow-style, where small groups of 4-8 rooms are clustered together, connected by a network of quiet, plant-lined paths. The hotel has a decent gym with a variety of gym equipment and cardiovascular equipment, including some treadmills, which is key, as there are no running trails on the property (unless you are a beach runner). The hotel has a few restaurants (Indian, Italian and general cuisine) that are all clustered together along a small "main street", which is adjacent to the tri-level pool, which is supposedly the largest of its kind in Asia. The hotel has a large, immaculately maintained lawn that separates it from the beach. There are 3 bars on the property, one pool-side, one in the sand dunes beach side, and a pub-style bar on restaurant row. This hotel was gorgeous and is easily on my top 10 list of best hotels that I have ever stayed in. The only complaint that I have is actually not the Hyatt's fault, but I used Booking.com and was annoyed to not only be double-charged, but it took me almost 2 weeks to get it resolved. Also, since I am a priority member of the Hyatt Gold Passport program, because I used a third party booking service, I was not eligible to collect my points for the stay. I will never again use a service such as this. Other than that, I highly recommend this property, especially if your goal is merely to relax by the pool or stick your toes in the sand.
