While in France, you MUST take the leap to try the cheese. I'll admit...there are sooooooo many types and many have such DISTINCT odors that it can be intimidating but TRUST - IT IS WORTH IT! For the soft cheese, the tamest is the brique. It is somewhere between cheese and butter but so fabulous…

My senior year Spring break. I went to Paris with three friends. Jane, Natalie, and I met with our friend Keren who lives in the city. She showed us around when she had the time and we got lost when she didn't.

One of our new members, Michelle (mfmoorede), who only joined TravBuddy on the 18th of June started of right with a couple of great blogs of her trips. And although so far they are only picture blogs, she had some great shots uploaded. One was of a wonderful golden topped monument. …

Our day in Paris started much later than the rest of the tour. We were actually able to "sleep in". Without the long ride, we had a nice around town tour of the sights of Paris. The Opera, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees. Being the old city it is there are so many wonderful sights…

What can you see or say about Paris in 4 hours while switching trains on the Planes Trains & Automobiles 2009 OSB & TUGA’s European Vacation I thought about the song April in Paris & my favorite version of this much recorded song.
I never knew the charm of springI never met it …

My favorites things in Paris: the architecture/building style, and the FOOD. Talk about fab! I found a cute French restaurant by recommendation of a local and dined on wine, escargot, beef tar tar, and creme brulee. I would DEFINATELY recommend getting some authentic food, even if it is a bit of a splurge.
P.S.~ If you're going to see a can-can show, go to the Moulin Rouge. It's expensive, but if you're going to do it, then do it right! It's in the Montmarte district so go out after.

This morning we had free time to explore the city. We don't speak French, and apparently that makes not getting lost quite a task (maybe that's just us?) We wandered around Paris, trying to find the Catacombs, only to find them 2 hours later. They were closed. Oh well, no harm we still got to see l…

The plan of action was running
as smooth as silk - 5 nights in London, and 5 nights in Paris, and with
the London leg of our journey already completed, the Parisian episode
felt like it was destined to have coined such phrases as 'onwards and
upwards', and 'the sky's the limit'. This was the se…

Today we all had a free day in Paris. Breakfast at the hotel was scheduled for 8:20. It was a really good breakfast, too! Little did we know that it was going to be one of the best breakfasts of the tour. Our coach left the hotel at 9:00 and dropped us off at the Louvre. It turns out that on the fi…

Bernadette will be going home tomorrow afternoon. It would seem like
after a week in Paris I would feel as comfortable in Paris as I did in
Barcelona or Malaga, but with the language "barrier" everyday is a new
mission to find who you can relate with. Funny thing is I've found that
behind almos…

My last night in Paris was one of the top five nights of my life. My friend Alex had come in from the States to fly me home, (he works for Lufthansa, and got me a sweet deal on tickets...I got to fly business class for almost less than you'd pay to fly coach!) and we'd spent the day doing las…

After some serious reflections, I decided that I do like the metro in Paris after all. Its complicated, but you just concentration, and you'd be able to get wherever you want to in a quick minute. I have also learnt how to feign the look of a Parisien, and stopped carrying maps wherever I went to. …

(cont'd...) The Basilique du Sacre Coeur is a Roman Catholic Church located in Montmartre district of the city. The washed-out white appearance of its exterior is from calcite-type rock material used in its construction. The fact that all cathedrals we've seen have their own individual charact…

(cont'd...) This is part five of my Paris blog and I may finally end it here, or not. With all the stunning places and things to witness in Paris - as a tourist, and one who is inclined to writing - I can still weave more words to describe our trip experience we had of the city inclu…
