My last day in Paris didn't start off as I thought it would. I was hung over, having kidney pains, tired, annoyed and apparently poor. After breakfast we went to Fragonard's a French perfumery and museum. It was not my tste of entertainment but it was something Contiki set up so we all went. It was, however, completely voluntary. At the end they handed out sample wands for us to smell. Dan & I took the liberty of collecting them from everyone around us ...

This was a bus trip that my daughter and I took together. Although I'm not fond of bus tours, this one was not so bad. My daughter and I actually had a good time on this trip despite the tempermental weather we experienced along the way. Paris is such a beautiful and wonderful city and we really enjoy ourselves here no matter what time of year or weather. I was actually brave enough to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower this time. It was scary at first, but oh so ...

When I first met Krish in Santiago last December, I would never think she would become a real friend that I would meet back in my homecoutry 8 monthes later. After spending a couple of weeks in Peru at mines in February, we said each other: "OK, we have to meet back. " Thats what we made, when I told her that I would come back in France for my vacations, She said "OK, I catch a eurostar and I meet you in Paris with my friend Nilesh, you - insert here a krish-made insult -"The D-day, I was wai...

It was a gloomy morning. I hope it will not rain heavily during the day. I decided to skip the breakfast since I wasn't feeling hungry. I opened my travel book and noticed the area Beaubourg and Les Halles have some modern contemporary places, as well as Renaissance styles of architecture. It should be interesting! Before I started my day, I noticed that the duffle bag that I bought from Oxford was broken. Long story cut short, I left my suitcase in U.K. because it was too big to fit in Steve...

This morning I woke up around 8:30. Jeremy had to work for a few hours so after I took a shower, I went to counquer the city on my own. I started out again at the Eiffel Tower and then walked down the Champs Elysees all the way to the Place de la Concorde and then down to the Louvre. Then I walked over to Notre Dame. I took my time taking in all that Paris had to offer me. Experiencing the city at the age of 16 is totally different now that I am 25. I notice the people, locals a...

Today we have another full day of touring around Paris. Luckily it started late, because we were very late getting in last night and were very tired. Breakfast at the hotel was pretty good today, and finally we were on the bus for our morning tour, a nice around town tour of the sights of Paris. The Opera, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees were just a couple of the highlights. Being the old city it is there are so many wonderful sights to see and the architecture is so marvelo...

We woke up today and went to one of the little bakerys by Meghan's place and got yummy yummy food, God I'm going to miss the food here! after that we jumped the train and headed over to walk along the Seine. First we went over to check out Sainte Chapelle. It's pretty...um, yeah. Not too much say, we didn't go in or anything.
After that we walked and went to some of the little souviner stalls and got a few littl...

Our last day. Everything went so fast... Packing our bags and enjoying our last day.
The first day it was raining, the second day there was wind and at our last day.. there was sun!! Lots of sun! YEAH!
After a late breakfast we went to the district Le Marais. By accidental we saw a market. Much of fresh fish, cheese and fruit. Really nice to see. And not much tourists. Le Marais is a Jewish neighbourhood. Nice parks to relax. At the market we had bought some cheese and Jewish bread. Jammie...

Paris has always been a great mystery to me. Every occasion I got to go there, it revealed to me a little bit of some new secret. Every time, it was a unique expecrience, profoundly personal. I couldn't stop observing every corner and feeling things in a different way. I took example from those parisian women, effortlessly elegant and sedutive, yet never lacking boldness. Or those parisian men, unafraid to personnify the word "goodlooking" or "distinguished". I could ...

Bastille day is the equivalent of July 4th in the US. It begins with a parade on the Champs Elysees with many military vehicles which are around in the side streets of Paris after the parade for people to get a closer look/climb into/take pictures with/etc. and culminates with fireworks over the Tour Eiffel. There was a free concert at the Champs de Mars this year with a man I equate to be the French Elton John (although the British version is superior to the French in the same wa...

My father had a close Friench friend. He'd come to Japan and visited our house. I wanted to see him in Paris, but he had a serious sick, so his wife came to see me. Though she couldn't speak English and I couldn't speak French, we hugged tightly each other. I hadn't visited Paris since then, so I belive that meeting might have been a once-in-a-lifetime event.
