I love Paris in the spring... how about you..? ;) ;)

A Parisian street. A Parisian café. A Parisian indifferent waiter swaying leisurely between indifferently calm customers. All of them deep in hazy thoughts.  Leisurely sipping the Day from the china cups. At 07:30 in the morning. I love Paris in the spring.   St Germain, Montmartre Have I not walked these streets before? Has the blown wind not into my face? Have I not stood in the corner …at the very edge of Edith Piaf’s song? Have I not been a Parisian Mademoiselle...

25 hrs in Paris, A chance to use my native tongue, climbing Eiffel Tower by foot, love to come back

A short bus ride (6hrs) and I was in Paris, one of my favorite cities, then more I come here, the more I want to move here :) I knew that I would be here only for 1 day so I just tried to enjoy as much of the city as I could, visiting places that I didn't get a chance to see when I was here last.  After dropping my stuff at St. Christophers Hostel, I was off to Basilique du Sacré-Couer, which is located Monmartre, the highest point in the city.  As I sat on the ...

In the morning of 21, my friend and I first went out for breakfast as there was nothing at home, but the left overs of the Lebanese dishes. She suggested me to have a typical breakfast in Paris at a cafe at the places des vosges, her favorite place.  The place was really calm and nice for sunny morning-birds were singing, children were playing but no traffic and busy people ! There we had a breakfast set-an espresso, a croissant, and orange juice, but after having the croissan...

One of our new members, Michelle (mfmoorede), who only joined TravBuddy on the 18th of June started of right with a couple of great blogs of her trips.  And although so far they are only picture blogs, she had some great shots uploaded.  One was of a wonderful golden topped monument.  I loved the look of it. A real nice shot.  But there was also a light-pole right next to it in the picture that detracted from the overall look.  So I asked permission and downloaded it,...

I was lucky to have my camera in my bag on that day! Every street around the Champs Elysées was closed for cars, so we could walk in the middle of the streets :) It was really great! Well, it was cool for pedestrians only, because drivers were going nuts, it was such a mess… Actually, there was a ceremony under the Arc de Triomphe to commemorate the 19th of March 1962, date of the signature of the ceasefire between France and Algeria.

A long time ago I visited Paris for one day and I knew I should come back to this  beautiful city of light and love, because Paris has so much amazing sights, I`ve enjoyed every minute there, by day and by night! One day in Paris was not enough for me. The next time I spent 10 days in Paris and after that I still had not enough of Paris; I took the train, the bus, the car and the metro to visit Paris. It`s not fun at a crowded metro, but the subway drives you everywhere you want in Pa...

On to Paris
posted by:

Our day in Paris started much later than the rest of the tour. We were actually able to "sleep in".  Without the long ride, we had a nice around town tour of the sights of Paris.  The Opera, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees.  Being the old city it is there are so many wonderful sights to see and the architecture is so marvelous. The tour also included tickets to the second level of the Eiffel Tower.  That gave us a wonderful, birds-eye view of Paris.  But it also showe...

I figured that this would be my first entry in the journal of Paris.  For anyone who has read any of my previous entires then you most likely know that this will have some sort of humor.  Trust me this is one.  If you enjoyed the Spain story then you'll love this one.  I will in later entries be telling the story of the day prior, but this is the story that I felt like writting today.  EVERYTHING IS TRUE. This day was not like any other day in Paris.  The night...

Day 5- Paris At Last
posted by:
Mar 16, 2007 - Mar 23, 2007
My last day in Paris didn't start off as I thought it would.  I was hung over, having kidney pains, tired, annoyed and apparently poor.  After breakfast we went to Fragonard's  a French perfumery and museum. It was not my tste of entertainment but it was something Contiki set up so we all went.  It was, however, completely voluntary.  At the end they handed out sample wands for us to smell.  Dan & I took the liberty of collecting them from everyone around us ...

My favorites things in Paris: the architecture/building style, and the FOOD. Talk about fab! I found a cute French restaurant by recommendation of a local and dined on wine, escargot, beef tar tar, and creme brulee. I would DEFINATELY recommend getting some authentic food, even if it is a bit of a splurge. P.S.~ If you're going to see a can-can show, go to the Moulin Rouge. It's expensive, but if you're going to do it, then do it right! It's in the Montmarte district so go out after.
