On this wonderful sunday morning i had to get up at 4:30am because i had to work...and as i finished work at about 8:00am i didnt have time to have a nap.So i packed my last stuff together and prepared my mind for the journey. The train ride was boring and exciting at the same time, because i was in the first waggon and it was the new ICE which drives at 320km/h in France - a nice experience! After arriving at Gare de l'Est in Paris i didn't waste time and walked to metro ligne 4 direction Por...

paris is beautiful city. i arrived there with my group by train from london. it was a really quick trip, only 2 hours. we walked to the hotel from the metro station. the hotel was on a small 12' wide street and was pretty awesome. the guy at the front desk was really nice and helpful. the room i stayed in was on the 6th floor and had a great window view overlooking all of the buildings in our part of paris, which is the oldest. we were only ...

At the age of sixteen my parents allowed me to go on a school trip to France and Spain with the French teacher and six of my classmates. What an opportunity this was! I honestly credit my love for travel and exploration to this adventure. Although I didn’t know my other travel mates all that well, I was exceptionally happy that my friends Melanie and Abby would be coming along. Between the three of us we knew maybe 10 French phrases and just enough Spanish to get us ...

So today I went to the French open (Tennis for all you out there not in the know), It was easy to find. Walking from the metro station to the main stadium took about a 5-10 minute walk and I must have been asked 50 times or so if I would sell my ticket. The gates opened at 10am and I went straight to the shop to get my stuff so I wouldn’t forget later. It was very hot and sunny at this time so I also had to buy a hat because I didn’t think to bring one.My first tennis match took place on...

My sister and I spent 2 and a half days speed-sightseeing in Paris prior to shipping off to Marseille for the first All Blacks game. I won't bore anyone with my observations of a city practically everyone has visited. All I'll say is this:
1. Parisians are marginally nicer than they're made out to be; 2. Beware the subterranean portion of the Louvre - it's been converted from hallowed ground into a frighteningly sanitized American-style mall, complete with Swarovski and...

The Arc de Triomphe is one
of the most famous monuments in Paris. It was commissioned in 1806 after
the victory at Austerlitz by Emperor Napoleon I at the peak
of his fortunes. Laying the foundations alone took two years, and in 1810 when
Napoleon entered Paris from the west with his bride
Archduchess Marie-Louise of Austria, he had a wooden mock-up of the
completed arch constructed. The architect Jean Chalgrin died in 1811, and the
work was taken over by Huyon. During the Restoration,...

Well Cam and Nick got up and had a quick breakfast and hit the road to do another route of the "Hop On Hop Off" bus tour while KL and Ashley had a little sleep in. Caught the metro to the Notre Dame and boarded a bus. Sat up top even though it was a little wet and saw a few more sites. Got off at the Bastille and walked home. Grabbed a baguette on the way and had a light lunch using up stuff in the fridge.
We then started to pack some stuff to make sure it was going to fit in the bags. All ...

We started the morning off with Music class and then a Music excursion to the Opera House. I guess there was a feeling that something should be done for the exorbitant price of the concert last night. I really enjoyed seeing the Opera House. Our tour guide was very good and explained things well. We were able to see the inside with the box seats because they were setting up for another event.
