Today is my last day in Paris and as planned I'm visiting the Louvre.  It's a HUGE museum so I decided to start early.   I've passed by it the week before so I've pretty much already admired the pyramid and the Jardin des Tuileries.  I have a strategy.  First, I de-stressed by reminding myself that it's impossible to see everything even if I spent the whole day here!  Or according to my book, a whole life time will not be enough. With an imaginary drum roll, I hel...

I have to confess, that this was my goal in Paris. I'm not a big fan of the Eiffel Tower like my travel buddy Pesta, but I really enjoy museums. And Louvre is not just some museum. It's THE MUSEUM. A heaven for all people intrested in art, history, myths and culture. That's why Basia (Short from Barbara) didn't come with us. She doesn't fell the atmosphere of this historical crap. She decided to spend time on her own watching some buildings (btw, she didn't know who Charles de Gaulle was...

Paris, the city that needs no introduction. Who doesn't know the Eifeltower, the Arc de Triomph, Montmartre and Qaurtier Latin? Paris… What can I say that has not already been said by thousands? The answer to that question I do not know. All I know is one thing; when I'm in Paris, it feels like being home. I absolutely love Paris. Its smell on a Sunday morning, its cramped terraces with the tiny tables and wobbly chairs, its taxi drivers who throw lavish gestures at you wi...

This day was out last in Paris. We would wave goodbye to this city, a city that opened my eyes to my own fear and prejudices and welcomed me in. Wow. We really just left this day for filler. To walk around and enjoy without the hustle and bustle of getting somewhere. One thing I had to do was to visit Jim Morrison's gravesite. It might be cliche and touristy but my dad as a fan and it would make him happy. Hell I'm a fan and it made me happy. We took the metro over. It really wasn't far from ...

9:02am Wednesday June 30, 2004   “I am just sitting on the Eurostar waiting for it to depart Paris. In about 20 minutes I will officially be leaving Paris. I’m not sure how I feel about leaving. I will miss Paris and my adventures but I really miss home. I miss my bed and all my stuff. I miss my cell phone, my car and even my job. Last night was just really chill. We hung out for a while, found a pizza place to get pizza from then Matt and I played a couple rounds of King’s Cor...

I've always imagined that my first trip to Paris would be with my future husband on our honeymoon. I have pictured the two of us holding hands walking by the Eiffel Tower, saying cheesy lines to each other, marvelling at the sights, and buying crepes and croissants from every patisserie we find along the way.  After all, Paris is all about love and romance (and food) right? But apparently, I have this patience problem and just couldn't wait for that, so last November 2006, I d...

I only have exactly 12 hours in Paris.. From the moment the plane lands until it takes off again.. Such a short time, but I don't wanna stay inside the hotel room for my first time visit to the most romantic city on earth. Our hotel is near the airport and taking the train is quite convenient going to the city.  Almost an hour ride, I arrived at the St. Michel-Notre Dame RER station, took another train that leads me to Eiffel.  But it wasn't easy as it sounds, I'm quite confuse...

We awoke at 6 am and left for CDG airport.   Our flight was at 9:30 am and was smooth and routine.   We arrived in Detroit at 1 pm.   The flight used up all nine scheduled hours due to headwinds. We had about  five hours in DTW airport before finally heading back to Fort Wayne.    Drove home from there to Indy and that was it! Our daughter loved visiting Paris and It was actually my wifes first time there too. "Last time in Paris was strang...

We arrived in Paris quite late, about 9 in the evening. We decided there was no point in getting smashed, as we had to catch a pretty early train from gare du nord in the morning. Our initial plan was to spend the last day in paris buying stuff for the peeps back home, but that one went out the window. We didn't really have any money left in the end though, so we couldn't actually buy anything really. We checked in at the same hostel we stayed at in the beginning of our trip. It was n...

A Parisian street. A Parisian café. A Parisian indifferent waiter swaying leisurely between indifferently calm customers. All of them deep in hazy thoughts.  Leisurely sipping the Day from the china cups. At 07:30 in the morning. I love Paris in the spring.   St Germain, Montmartre Have I not walked these streets before? Has the blown wind not into my face? Have I not stood in the corner …at the very edge of Edith Piaf’s song? Have I not been a Parisian Mademoiselle...

A short bus ride (6hrs) and I was in Paris, one of my favorite cities, then more I come here, the more I want to move here :) I knew that I would be here only for 1 day so I just tried to enjoy as much of the city as I could, visiting places that I didn't get a chance to see when I was here last.  After dropping my stuff at St. Christophers Hostel, I was off to Basilique du Sacré-Couer, which is located Monmartre, the highest point in the city.  As I sat on the ...
