The Church of Pargas Jun 01, 2011
Pargas is a town in the Finnish archipelago. One place worth to visit in the town is the old medieval church made of grey stone. The oldest parts of the church, the Chapel of Agricola, was built on the 13:th century.

The paintings inside the church, on the walls and on the ceiling, are from 1486.

Outside the church is the cemetery, and here you also find a memorial stone with the names of all the young men from Pargas, who died during the World War II.

The church was recently restored, and opened for the public again in December 2011. During the restoration they tried to find more hidden old paintings on the walls.
