Parc Monceau, my favourite parc in Paris Mar 04, 2008
Paris is for me a paradoxe. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I miss it whereas sometimes I wish I was far away...
Today, I loved it. I spent hours in the Parc Monceau, my favourite park in Paris. It is said that it was designed using Rousseau's words from La Nouvelle Héloïse : 'bring together all ages and all parts of the world in a single garden'. The park does not respect the standards of French famous gardens : there is no order, paths are curving, going everywhere, statues seem to have been dropped anywhere... It does not surprise me that I feel so well there ! This park is really full of charms. I walked around for 1 hour. Then I sat in front a statue of Alfred de Musset and read one of his books. Time just stopped. Unfortunatly, the rain took me back in the real world. Time to leave... Very bad quality for the pics... I just had my phone with me :/ Sorry... We had lunch at a little side-walk cafe in this area, then we headed to Parc Monceau. Here was another of the guide book's suggested walking tours, so we explored this beautiful place of nature and peace (although it too was crowded) within the urban craziness of Paris.
