To reach the island you catch a water taxi or vehicle barge from the seaside suburb of Redland Bay. The Water taxi is located at the southern end of Banana Street and it takes approximately 15 minutes to reach Macleay Island. The Vehicle Barge to Macleay Island is approximately an hour from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. located at Weinham Street it takes approximately 40 minutes to reach the island.
