Always fun! Jan 08, 2011
If you're visiting Amsterdam, Paradiso is one of the best places to go out, especially on Wednesday and Thursday. The music is always good and dancable and the crowd is very nice.

Besides the bands: also for clubbing! Jul 19, 2009
Residing in an old church, Paradiso's mission is to take you beyond live music. In the Main Hall they bring you amazing live performances by world famous rock, folk, soul, country, reggae and blues hero’s (Al Green, Jerry Lee Lewis, Smokey Robinson) or “newcomers” (Queens Of The Stone Age, White Stripes, Lady Gaga). In the Small Hall they host more intimate concerts by bands that are or could be the next big thing. Besides these live performances Paradiso also hosts a series of club nights such as the Noodlanding Classic. If you’re in town on a Wednesday and ready to hit a clubyou should really go to Paradiso for good house music and a friendly crowd.

Paradiso May 02, 2008
As one of Amsterdam's hotspots, Paradiso is known for its unique atmosphere and looks. The club is located in a now defunct church, so the logical nickname of the venue is 'temple of music'. Some legendary concerts took place at the Paradiso, some examples: Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols and Joy Division. All in their early days.

Nowadays, Paradiso has a very wide programming. Today, a heavy metal band can perform, while tomorrow the whole place can be filled with rastafari watching their favorite reggae artist. The venue holds two halls; the Main hall and the Upstairs hall. The Main hall holds a capacity of about 1500 people, while the upstairs hall is more intimate (about 300 people). There are multiple concerts/dance parties at one evening most of the time.

Paradiso is one of my favorite spots when it comes to concerts. I think I've been to about 50 gigs in Paradiso at the moment. Some memorable shows I saw there include Eels, Rilo Kiley, Alter Bridge and Death Cab for Cutie. Negative thing about the whole thing is that the prices are a bit high. You pay €2,30 for a glass of Heineken beer. But when you think about the location (near Leidseplein), you can say it's pretty understandable. Paradiso is pure cult and I hope it won't be relocated. It will absolutely lose its charms.
