Paradise Village ~ Nuevo Vallarta May 15, 2008
What can I say? Paradise Village was truly Paradise! It had a beatiful hotel, time shares and condominium resorts, spectacular beaches, championship golf course, world class marina, European spa, Conference Center , zoo and huge enclosed shopping mall. It is 440 acres! NEVER have I seen such a variety of hibiscus! The beach was nice but it was peculiar that there was so much foam in the waves. Was this normal?
The check in was a bit cumbersome as Linda and Ray had a time share there and we were staying at the motel part. We stood in line and got the bracelets that flagged us as guests.. It took about 30 minutes to stand in line and complete the paperwork. Finally we got the key and walked down hall. Linda noticed right away that they had not put us into the main motel part and had put us in the main building. We believe they had a shortage of rooms in the motel but that worked for us! We loved the room. As we first walked in there was a short hall way that had a bath room off of it and a small table that had two complimentary waters. The living room had a couch, two chairs, two side table, coffee table, satellite television, radio, CD player, glass topped table and two chairs. It had a fan to help circulate the air in both the bedroom and the living room. The bed was one of the few comfortable motel beds we have ever slept on. The grounds were totally amazing. We have never seen such a variety of flowers, trees and birds. It was better than any garden I have ever experienced. The Pool was a series of areas that had bridges and alcoves. Olivia and Laura had spent the day at the pool and had a great time. The on thing that needs really serious work is the zoo. It is pitious to see the animals in small cages along a busy walk way and road way. There were birds, monkeys and tigers. The zoo needs to be re-done and moved off of the street. The cages are cramped but looked clean. It is sad to see animals in less than nice quarters. The mall had clothing, shoe and jewelry stores. It had a Jungle type of restaurant that appeared to copy Rain Forest Cafe. They had mcdonalds, a launder mat, mexican, italian, pizza, brazilian, coffee shops, grocery store (with some good prices on pre-made food), and an internet cafe. It was upscale and fairly nice inside. All in all we would go there again.... It isn't cheap but it is a cut above. ... One thing people don't know is that Paradise Village has apartments / condos that can be rented furnished for about $1600-1800 per month. If we took our kids down it would be perfect as the motels would run quite a bit more than that. It seems this is a closely guarded secret that we heard when we were in Mayan Village. Linda and Ray checked them out and really liked them. Part of the Puerto Vallarta travel blog |
