Papa Angelo's - Bethany - TravBuddy

Papa Angelo's is a small New York style pizza shop in the heart of Bethany, Oklahoma that delivers incredible taste and value to the Oklahoma City area. Angelo's is run by a family from Brooklyn and while you can pick up your order, I recommend dining in the shop if you are in a group of 4 or less because the people are as much a treat as the amazing New York pizza that is served there. Pizzas come in a variety of sizes ranging from the 8" Little Joe to the 20" Empire which is big enough to feed 3 big men or an entire family of average eaters. They also offer other Italian dishes like pasta, calzones, and lasagna. I went here with 2 other guys from my school and we were easily full for around $20 including drink. The service at Angelo's is unlike anywhere I have ever been as they will joke with you about lids for their drinks costing 75 cents each or come over and snoop on you in a delightful manner. Throughout our time eating they were very conversational and it was a pleasure to get to know these warm people. The pizza slices are large, especially on the Empire, which you must fold over to eat comfortably. The crust is as close to perfect as you can find, being both crunchy and flavorful. Cost is not something to worry about as they offer slices for only $3 and a large 32 ounce drink is only about $1.20. If you're in the Oklahoma City area, this place is well worth the short drive into Bethany if you are looking for a place that has a "hole in the wall" feel, being a true gem in the middle of so many corporately owned restaurants.
