30 minutes to view entire Eagles Nest area. Ridiculous! Jul 24, 2008
This is UNACCEPTABLE! We had all of 30 minutes to view the entire area atop the mountain - the building/restaurant, and the surrounding area. Forget getting a snack, forget sitting down, forget taking it all in, forget taking a lot of pictures.
Then we were herded back down the elevator in a rush to spend all of 50 minutes in Berchtesgaden. This is unacceptable, and while I recommend seeing Eagles Nest, I do NOT recommend using Panorama Tours to do so!!!

Do yourself a favor and book your Sound of Music Tour and the Salt Mine/Eagles Nest tour together. Not the same day but as a package. It'll end up saving you around 20 Euro or so.
The Sound of Music Tour is about 4hrs. I reckon the Salt Mine/Eagles Nest is the same amount of time. Before you go rent the movies. The Eagles Nest is one of Clint Eastwoods first flick.   Part of the Europe July-Oct. travel blog |
