Pangkor Indah Resort Pangkor Island Reviews
Affordable simple accomodation in Pangkor Island Mar 01, 2007
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay in Pangkor, and are not too particular about architecture or ambience, I suggest the Pangkor Indah Resort in Telok Nipah. It’s a family run hotel and what first began as a row of quaint wooden houses on stilts now has been ‘improved’ by adding a pink(!) building to it. Even though it lacks in architectural beauty, it is very comfortable and suitable for its price because it has air-conditioning, and hot showers. The rooms are tiny though, have 2 beds and uncarpeted floors ( great for beach going guests) but the downside is the TV didn’t work!!
It is along a little street perpendicular to the beach, and is only a 250 meter walk from it. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a café, but if you want, you can ask for food to be catered.
Since there are many little shops and cafes there, food should not be a problem IF you are not fussy. Sadly, even as a Malaysian, I found the food in that vicinity lacking. Its mostly local food, slightly spicy and oily but if you are adventurous, why not?
Note: The resort next to it is Sunset Resort ,run by Pak Din who every evening feeds the abundant hornbills that seem to be all over the island. That will be an interesting thing to see and you can get the chance to feed them too!
The rates are RM 75 for weekdays and RM 95 for weekends per night. The telephone number is 05-6852107 or 012-5176850 (Ask for Shimah – language may be a bit of a problem though, but she should be able to understand).
