Panera Bread Springfield Reviews
Cafe-Bistro Concept at Panera Bread Apr 26, 2012
Panera is one of my favorite places for a light but appetizing and enjoyable meal. It is a national chain, but I've heard people describe Panaera as the most European in concept among American counter-service restaurants.
The West Springfield store was heartily welcomed when it opened two years ago. It's always crowded! From families to students from nearby West Springfield High School, everyone comes here!
Selections range from a variety of cafe sandwiches to salads to soups. I like the "Pick Two" combination meal concept. In this, the customer selects two items from among a sandwich, salad or soup. I typically select a Signature Salad, like the BBQ Chopped Chicken Salad, and a Soup. Bistro Onion, Creamy Tomato, and Chicken Tortilla are my favorite soups at Panera. Pick Two combinations include choice of a baguette or a small bag of potato chips.
Panera also a bakery section with pastries and breads. I typically stock up on Panera bagels for the weekend.
The only reservation I have about the West Springfield Panera is that the staff appear always to be overwhelmed. There can be a wait at the counter to order and tables and the carpet are not swept as often as they should be. This is not the case with other locations.
Free Wi-Fi. Panera has numerous locations throughout the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
