Panda Express North Highlands Reviews
Good, fast and tasty Dec 28, 2010
Panda Express is the McDonalds of Chinese fast food. With Over 1220 locations in 38 states throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Japan and just as many more openings each month. They seem to concentrate these places in food courts university campuses and key intersections.
Panda Express is a fast-food, Chinese Buffet-Style chain restaurant that features fresh, tasty Chinese food.
All of the restaurants are modern, clean with all food items freshly prepared on the premises. The kitchen cooking areas are open to view by the public as are the refrigerated spaces where all the ingredients are already precut and ready for cooking. This includes the large, industrial-sized woks. Each dish is freshly made and put up in the glass buffet. They offer about 25 items with the newest dish being the Korabi Beef. They also have a variety of chicken, beef and seafood dishes. Two items and a side dish only run about $5.75.
The food is quite tasty and good, in my opinion. It appears that the cooks are well trained and the line staff are very friendly and they always offer you a sample of any of the dishes they serve. the sauces are very good and taste very much like you find in a typically good Chinese sit-down restaurant. They use high heat and the food is fresh tasting and vegetables retain their bright colors and crunchy textures and the meats and fowl are tender, tasty and moist as they should be. The food never seems bland and the spicy items are appropriately hot with good application of dried red pepper flakes. We like their food better than some Chinese take-out places owned and operated by ethnic Chinese. It is not overly greasy as some places.
The serving sizes of the combination plates are generous. The two entrée plate is plenty of food with a little need eat again soon. You will not be hungry when you leave.
