Not just visted the Canal, and observed from land, I drove my 270 foot Coast Guard Cutter Through it.
We made the transit to the Pacific at night and again returned to the Atlantic two weeks later at night as well. The experience was almost surreal traveling through the locks and the narrow channels. It is amazing the amount of commercial traffic that is transitting through the canal 24-7. Nothing was going to stop the commercial activity, a truly impressive event that I will never forget.

I was only in Panama for a few days. As much as I've enjoyed this country, I couldn't wait to get back to the Caribbean. Perhaps it was all the highrises and the very city feel that made me miss my island. Nonetheless, there are some sights to definitely see in Panama. Yes, that would include the Panama Canal.
