The weather is really heating up here now and every day we wake up and pray that it'll be raining; but no the same old sticky sweat inducing weather. We were running low on money so decided to walk into town to use the cashpoint and discovered that our bank had stopped our cashpoint cards yet again. The 13 hour or so long bus journey from Bangalore finished at Panaji bus stand somewhere around 8:30 in am. Me and Pravin asked around on where to get bikes, and took one of the local buses to get to Miramar beach. Across the road we found some guy who was renting mopeds. After some amount of bargaining, waiting for the right guy to arrive, and some document copying we got ourselves a moped for 2 days @ about 150/day... not a bad deal considering it was tourist season almost. So today we decided to go back to Panaji to fly out the next day to Kerala province. We got up really early and went to the beach (ok, there's not much to do at Anjuna, so...either you go to the beach or you have a drink...or you chat....or you read...:) ) for a swim and breakfast

No offence to the locals, but this place is a shitbox!! We spent the day wondering around looking for something to do only to find there was nothing... We weren't allowed to swim in the local outdoor pool unless we had a note from the doctor to say that we were free of HIV/AIDS, there was a 11pm curfew on our absolutely diabolical hole of a room, and alcohol was disallowed until after the local elections. We stayed one night and decided we'd had enough. …

It had to happen sometime and we're quite amazed it hadn't earlier - the tummy bug. Hil succumbed in Agra, but a day's rest and some Royal Free supplied antibiotic put her swiftly on the mend. In the circumstances, neither of us could face the 3 tier overnight train to Varanasi. We moved to plan B. Go to Peter and Susie's in Delhi and see what else we could fix up.
