Started on April 30 of 1993, this week long event has become a yearly ritual. It was first held at the Bacolod Lagoon but had to be moved to a venue made just for the Panaad since there has been a greater amount of participants. The Panaad stadium and swimming complex in Mansilingan, Bacolod City was created and is also a venue for sporting events.

The event starts with a street dancing competition. The stadium is filled with vendors from all over the province of Negros Occidental. There are several themed booths for each of the 13 cities and 19 towns that represent their history, culture, trade, and agriculture.

Each booth sells items that their town is famous for. There are several plants and trees for sale. They also have native pastries and dried foods that they are famous for such as salted fish or fried squid a.k.a. calamari.

This is my favorite event in Bacolod. If you're in the area at that time, it's a perfect place to buy souvenirs to take home.
