Pammel's Grocery - Ames - TravBuddy

I guess the food was ok; it was more like a fast food kind of place. The best part of the dinner was the hummus; it was homemade and good. I thought Trader Joe's hummus was good but this one was way above. The rest of the food was ok; I had the chicken kebab, which came with a side of rice, similar to rice pilaou and a bowl of salad, Greek style with cucumbers and tomatoes. My boyfriend had the lamb kebab and that tasted better. They also serve gyros, over rice and sandwich style in pita bread with tzatziki. For starters, we had vegetable samosas; they had a nice spicy tomato - based dipping sauce.
I would have bought so many groceries at Pammels if I had not had to take it with me on the plane, so unfortunately I did not have much room. There was a lot of Arabic and Indian items at the store.
