BEST. DAY. EVER!

Tracy and I finally had our first full night's sleep! =D I think we got 7 hours and it was an amaaaazing feeling after the two 2 hour catnaps we've had in the last two days! I missed the superb pace and quality of the first 36 hours but realized that isn't sustainable unless.. oh you're SAL!!! My he is a BUNDLE of energy, it's wonderful and contagious at the same time! So upon waking we were missing Sal and Danny already but at least Danny was still in town! So we showered, packed quickly and...

Arrival

...So then we visited the mall, which was incredibly small, yet sufficient to spend hours with friends. Buying absolutely nothing other than food, we [guys] headed to the car for the ride home. Leaving Palm Springs after only being there for one night was a bit sad. It was probably the first time in an unfortunately long while that I'd really seen alot of stars in the night sky. Beautiful.

A Day in the Desert
posted by:
Jun 01, 1995 - Jun 25, 1995
During the day of my second day in Anaheim, I took a drive out towards Palm Springs and went for a ride on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. I did enjoy this side trip, with the snow peaked mountains and the miles of desert. I rode the Tramway the 14 minutes it took to get to the Mountain Station at an Elevation of 8,516 feet. Once at the top, I strolled around taking in the magnificent view, chatting with some of the other visitors and encountering my very first squirrel. I stayed for lunch a...

Rest-stop for Joey

If you do not have children, and you find yourself travelling with them cross-country one day, here's a bit of advice. Do not under ANY circumstances allow them to persuade you into buying them a taco and strawberry milk at the gas station. Especially if you're travelling non-stop through the desert when it's 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Projectile vommiting from a little boy in the back seat of a moving car is never pleasant.

Got sent here at the last minute.  When I heard "High Desert" I wasn't too thrilled.  But I flew into LAX, lucky me got a convertable upgrade.  Wasn't so bad.  Loved the windmill farm.  Not a bad week.

The morning for me started at 7:00am, as we gased up and hit the open road on a crispy Saturday morning.  It was quite peaceful.  The 805 leaving San Diego is an expanse of dry rocky crags surrounded by sparce vegetation.  Looks a lot like a scene from southern Italy.  Alone on the highway is a great way to view it, unadulterated by traffic and noise.  We cruise at a good clip to Riverside and make our way into the Inland Empire's bosom. In stark contrast to the San ...

Palm Springs: the place the stars love to live

Here are my tips for people thinking or planning a trip to Palm Spring, California.   1.      Best time to visit is “the season” unless you like it very hot! The “season” is winter, with the peak time running from January through to May. Prices at this time ramp up with hotels costing much more, and I suspect other things too. It is very hot in summer, with a minimum of around 26 degrees Celsius up to about 40 and above (that is up to 110 Fahrenheit)...

This was our first time out of the country "together", leaving the USA behind. We drove for hours, enjoyed every moment of sandstorms, crimson sunsets, home made tacos, late night rain on our open tent, sandy grilled shrimp, off-roading and the liberating feeling of walking barefoot in the sandy roads of El Golfo de Santa Clara, Mexico. Enjoy our experience as you visit our blog.

So for me this trip was a bust. Since it was in the winter, the weather was colder, at the most 20 degrees celcius. I did take alot of pictures, though, as I like doing so. If you go to California, go during the summer and not as a winter vacation.
