Three-masted frigate Pallada is a classical sail ship which was built in the XX century. It has 26 sails, its speed is 18 knots. It is the fastest sailing vessel in the world according to Guinness Book of Records. Its home port is Vladivostok. The Far Eastern State Technical Fishing University owns this ship which was built in Poland in 1989. It is used as a training ship and sometimes as a scientific research ship.

Sailing vessel Nadezhda (“Hope”) has 3 masts and 26 manual sails. It has made many expeditions to different places of the world. The Nevelskoy Maritime State University owns this ship. The home port is Vladivostok. Nadezhda is also called «The Far Eastern Swimming University» because it spends the research work during 7 years. The best scientists, tutors, young explorers, students take part in the scientific work of this swimming university.

Different arrangements are held during the expeditions, including trainings, scientific and press conferences, and also holidays as in the real university. All participants of such expeditions receive the diplomas.
