PaleoX'tian & Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki
PaleoX'tian & Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki Reviews
Monuments That Are Worth a Visit Dec 31, 2010
(Note: The official name listed at UNESCO spells Paleochristian but due to space requirement at this website, I abbreviated it to PaleoX'tian. thanks)
Among the fifteen monuments (as of this writing) included at UNESCO's list of Paleochristian and Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki, I've visited seven of them so far, or maybe not knowing, I've visited some more of them. (On my Thessaloniki blog link, I've posted those places that I've been to, maybe some of them also belong to the list). Anyway, I am certain that I've been to the following: Rotunda of Saint George, Church of Saint Demetrious, Church of Saint Sophia, Church of Panagia Chalkeon, Church of the Savior, Arch of Galerius or the Kamara, and the Museum of Byzantine Culture.
Let me just give you the summary for now. I will make an in-depth description on all of them as I go on with my review. Meanwhile, may I share with you my trip experience at Thessaloniki in just one click below.
