The best Mayan ruins I have seen Jan 12, 2012
The Palenque ruins are located in the National Park Palenque, close to the city that has the same name. Ruins are pretty compact not too far from each other and there are many well preserved buildings. Bunch of temples, lots of hieroglyphs, tombs that you can access and beautiful palace that will satisfy everyone's taste. Every place in the complex is easily accessible and free to climb and visit. Most of the hieroglyphs are still in the original place standing right in the front of your eyes as they were in the front of the high priest.

Do not miss the museum on site because it hosts excellent collection of the hieroglyphs, everyday items, tomb, and other amazing items. Ticket price for the museum is included in general ruins ticket. I’ll let you enjoy the photos and make your own plans to get there…
