Palazzo Venezia (Naples) Reviews
Nice enough paintings May 03, 2011
Built in the fifteenth century, the building was originally intended as a palace. These days however, it’s a museum for modern art.
The entrance is rather strange. You feel like you’ve wandered into someone’s private residence (well palace then!). After you go up the lift or stairs, there are helpful staff that will guide you to the main reception. From here, you can see several rooms of art work. The paintings are all modern, produced within the last century. Although they aren’t that noteworthy, they are pleasant enough to wander through. At the end, you get to go through the small garden and gift shop, and that’s it.
Not worth going to in its own right, but if you are nearby and have a leisurely itinerary, it might be worth popping in for ten or fifteen minutes.
