Palazzo Guardi Venice Reviews
Great hotel with a canal view Feb 14, 2009
During our trip most recent trip to Venice this past February, we stayed at the Palazzo Guardi Hotel. We found the hotel on Venere.com website and stayed in one of the two junior suites overlook the San Torvaso canal.
Our room was on the 2nd floor of the building with 2 windows facing the canal and 3 facing a small alley way that led to the Academie and bridge. The room had 12 foot ceilings and fabric cover walls with a crystal chandelier in the middle of the room and 2 side lights for reading in bed.
All accommodations are equipped with air-conditioning, safe, hairdryer, mini bar, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, and Internet connection.
The junior suite had a double bed, table with 2 chairs, sleeper sofa and large bathroom with heated towel bar. The windows were new and insulated with double pane glass which really helped muffle the noise from the endless stream of tourists passing through the corridor.
The continental breakfast buffet was served in the lounge from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. and included fresh rolls, meat, cheese, honey, warm croissants, milk, juice, tea and coffee. There was plenty of food available and never seemed to be a problem with seating.

Palazzo Guardi Overview
This palace takes its name form the famous artist Francesco Guardi, known above all for his landscape paintings which are considered on a par with those of other illustrious Venetian artists such as Canaletto and Tiepolo. His large paintings were inspired by the scenes of the antique Venetian Republic and in old Venetian tales told the building is often mentioned. The artist was inspired for his works by the magnificent scenes that could be admired directly from this and historic residence. Palazzo Guardi is divided into 2 structures which offer our Guests maximum convenience. One building has a magnificent original central hall , with a breathtaking view over the canal and the nearby *Squero-shipyard-di San Trovaso*. Here dating back to the antique Venetian republic and up until present days, the original Venetian gondolas are constructed; those boats which have made Venice famous throughout the world. The other building has been turned into the breakfast hall which is adorned with the authentic 15th century wooden beams and decorations. This area can also be used for conferences and in summer the beautiful private courtyard provides a perfect setting for breakfast *al fresco*. The buffet breakfast can therefore be taken in the elegant breakfast area, or, if Guest prefers, it can be delivered to the room where one can enjoy, in the comfort of one s room, the magic atmosphere of Venice. We also offer , in the central hall, a private corner where our clients are able to us a small p. for personal correspondence and internet. All our staff have many years of qualified experience in the hotel business. They are multilingual, speaking English, French, German and Spanish and they will make you fell at home and guarantee a warm welcome and unforgettable stay.
