Palais des Beaux-Arts Reviews

Disappointing Jun 21, 2008
I feel like I wasted my 3 euro on this, sadly. It was very hyped up and I expected works from a great deal of wonderful artists that they promoted as having. Yes, they did have a Goya display but you needed to pay extra to see it. Yes, they had some by Rubens. But I didn't see much else. Also, no audio tour or guide that I could find, which is a big help when you're a non- or limited-French speaker. Also, while I was there they were setting up for an event, and even though it was the middle of the day they were doing a very obnoxious soundcheck with some horrendous sort of trance music. I could barely stand it. All and all they had some nice pieces, and the building was lovely, but it was just a let down.
