A German architect Frederick Nax designed a historic palace in Sokolniki, funded by Łukasz Bniński, in 1776. In the following years the Crown hetman - Franciszek Ksawery Branicki was its owner. In times of the Duchy of Warsaw Frederick August III - the Saxon king and the titular ruler of the Duchy stayed in the palace several times. That was the best evidence of constant relations of Sokolniki with Saxony. Since 2000 after general renovation the palace has been a tree - star hotel.
