Palace Hotel Amman Reviews
The best (?) budget option in Amman May 03, 2007
The current backpacker favourite in Amman is the Palace Hotel in downtown Amman (not to be confused with the nearby Amman Palace Hotel, nor with the Sandy Palace Hotel - palace seems to be a popular name in Jordan).
The hotel is located near the King Hussein mosque and within walking distance of the Roman amphitheatre and offers large, clean rooms with or without private bathroom. Amenities include laundry service, luggage storage, Internet access, airport transfer and breakfast. The hotel also offers several day trips out of Amman like to the Dead Sea, Eastern Desert or Jerash, as well as one-way transportation to Petra, Wadi Rum or Damascus. These tours comprise of little more than transportation, but can be good value if you are with enough people to fill the taxi. They are certainly easier than trying to travel with the non-existent public transport. Little note of warning: there are about 10 hotels in Amman called Palace, make sure you book the right one (easy if you contact them via the website) Part of the Middle East 2007 travel blog |

Once there we went to the Palace hotel. It was a good price and in a pretty central part of downtown. It's no palace, but it was pretty nice, and the pillows were actually soft so I was happy. From there we wandered down to the Roman… Greatest bus ride of my life |

In Amman we were staying in Larsa Palm Palace Hotel. After a lunch (had a glass of white wine since almost a week :-)) in the hotel, a friend and I went to the Mecca Mall, a big modern shopping centre. We loved looking around in a big supermarket with quite some different goods… From Damascus (Syria) to Amman (Jordan) |

For those of you that know me you know that… The Romans really were everywhere |
