Nice relaxing area Sep 22, 2012
We passed the quite boring harbor city of Paldiski with it’s huge areas for imported cars; all fenced in and making this harbor city looking like a prison town. In distance we had spotted a lighthouse and we therefor headed for the peak of the peninsula.
There were some kilometers to drive before we finally parked next to the Parki lighthouse that was standing tall near the edge on the cliff. The lighthouse turned out to be the highest in Estonia, which was something none of us knew. The lighthouse was naturally standing on the top of cliff and measuring 52 meters by itself: including the cliff the limestone tower is 73 meters above sea level. The lighthouse was built in 1889 and in need of some restoration. ![]() ![]()
