You can see the fort's style, looks like Tibetan style. 700 years ago, the prince from Baltistan fell in love in the princess of Hunza so he builded this fort for her. NWFP

Gilgit is one of the five districts of Northern Areas and is located at an elevation of 1453.9 meters.
It is famous for Mountaineering, Trekking, Hiking, Fishing,
Photography, Youth Adventure, Archaeology etc. Buddhist Rock Carvings

kms away from Gilgit and the distance is covered in about 20 minutes in
a jeep. The Victory Monument of Taj Mughal was built about 700 years
ago and lies at a distance of 11 kms fr...

The family of Mirs of Hunza ruled Hunza for 960 years. Hunzakuts are
believed to be the descendents of five wandering soldiers of Alexander
the Great. The people of Hunza speak Brushuski, an aboriginal language.
This princely state retained its isolated independence for a long time
in the remote part of the areas which now form the Northern Areas of
Pakistan adjoining the Sinkiang Autonomous Region of China.During early nineteenth century, Hunza resented Kashmir's attempts to

THANK YOU to everyone who sends me postcards and help make my collection grow! I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH! If you sent me a postcard and you don't see it in this blog, it means it's still on its way or I never received it because it got lost or someone stole it. Yeah, it happens.

While completing a semester abroad at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore during my fourth year at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), I realized I had a real passion for traveling. In 2005, armed with a Media and Information Technology Bachelor’s degree from UWO, I set out to experience new cultures by starting a one year internship at the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. I soon entered a world that was foreign to me. Before embarking on this...
