Pak Su Seafood Restaurant: Affordable luxury by the beach May 04, 2013
Regardless of whether you're in Kuantan for sightseeing, for field trips like myself or perhaps you happen to be the newly appointed offshore petrochemical engineer for PETRONAS, Pak Su Seafood Restaurant is "THE PLACE" for seafood. There is something about having seafood just beside the cool breezy beach that makes the food extra delectable. Anyhow, after a gruelling day at work, one will always find a good reason to chill out at Pak Su.

Some of the must try signature dishes are the famous Pak Su stuff crab cake, squids with chili dried prawns, portugese style prawns, and steamed Patin Buah fish (a local river fish variety) in chinese soy sauce. Other worthwhile pursuits are cheese baked Boston lobster which cost about RM19.80 per 100g, fresh Canadian oyster for RM8.50 per piece and grill fish. All seafood are kept live in tanks so that the freshness of ingredients are ensured.

An order for two consisting of two young coconuts for drinks, four stuff crab cakes, a plate of squids with chili dried prawns, a generous helping of shark slices in black bean sauce and a fry vegetable dish cost less than RM90. I absolutely adore the signature Pak Su stuff crab cakes. They are simply addictive being very light, slightly sweet and fluffy. It's kind of like having a crab version of souffle. However, I find that mantis prawn dishes are to be avoided as they are a ripped off when compared to Kuala Lumpur pricing. But if you're from somewhere with favorable exchange rate, I guess the differences might not be too significant ;)

After a fulfilling dinner, a stroll on the beach might help to ease the unpleasant feeling of bloatedness. Even better, a swim in the ocean could burn away those unwanted calories consumed :P (Caution: South China Sea is a lot choppier compared to Straits of Malacca. Swim at own risk.)

Famous seafood restaurant in Kuantan Sep 02, 2009
If you looking for seafood in Kuantan, Pak Su is definitely worth going for a try. It is a famous restaurant that is frequent by many locals and visitors who are travelling to the east coast. It has an open air area facing the sea where you can feel the breeze and hear the sound of the waves during windy days. The specialty of this restaurant is their stuffed crab. But make sure you go early if you want to try it. The price of the food is reasonable but do not forget to ask for the price for some seafood if it is written as seasonal. Our order of a fish, 2 crabs, squid and asparagus for 6 person cost RM 120.
Spicy Squid
Asparagus cooked with sambal
salty crab
