Pahrump Overview

Pahrump, Nevada, located about 70 miles due east of Las Vegas, is a growing city of about 35,000. Nestled along Highway 160 (Pahrump Valley Road (or Blue Diamond Highway, as it is known by Vegas locals)), Pahrump is a quick drive from Las Vegas. It is the backdoor gateway to Death Valley, California and definitely sees its share of tourist traffic. Elevation is about 2,700 feet, with the hotter desert valley to the west and the Spring Mountains to the east. Great recreation opportunities are abound, depending if you are looking for a mountain or desert playground

Pahrump, which lies in Nye County, has been known of as the place Las Vegans sneak away to to do the legal things that they can't do in Las Vegas. People chose Pahrump because it doesn't have the hustle and bustle of big city life that Las Vegas has. You still can find a nice, quiet hotel, a quick meal, and wonderful local service. Plus, gas is always a little less expensive there; it is a great place to fill up if you are driving through.
