Pacifico Restaurante Cali Reviews
Delicious fish and seefood at trendy Granada area - Pacifico Restaurante Oct 26, 2009
This place is located in the "in" and fashion Granada area. It is well known by the locals and attracts people looking for fish and seafood.
The location is great and also the local. Outside they look simple and sober. Inside the decoration is sober, but also modern and nice. There is a nice lobby and bar area. The dining area is at the back and like the furniture there.
Now the food. As the name suggests, the food is mostly fish and seafood - cooked in Colombian style. But they also serve beef and chicken. We came here for the last dinner in Cali and wanted to have a Colombian meal, so we ordered the following:
Appetizer: Frutos del Sarten, which was a platter with 3 of the most popular Colombian appetizers but all included fish or seafood. It was very good. A small portion, but good to get the flavor.
Main dish: I got a salad - Mar del Sur - which had shrimp, very tasty. But also tried the "Cazuela del Pacifico", the special soup of the restaurant. This was lovely served in a coconut - sweet! It was a fish broth with shrimp, prawn, crab, clams, conch and fish. The broth got a bit of the coconut flavor. Yummy!
Also you will get complimentary snacks like crackers with a very good tuna paste.
Service is great. Staff is very kind and helpful and if they know you are coming from far away, they will treat you even better, if possible.
Be aware this place it's not that cheap, but worth it. Atmosphere, service and of course food are great. You will pay for the whole experience. I was lucky they gave me a nice souvenir when I was leaving :P
Part of the Colombia: only risk is wanting to stay. Few days in world's salsa capital: Cali Pachanguero! travel blog
