This place is awesome! It is a true "Mendo" experence, peaceful, laidback and unassuming. Little redwood cabins divided by a large lawn. If you are interested in a 5-Star hotel, go back to San Fransico, this isn't for you. But if you want a romantic get away, like we did, then come on up!
The staff has a wine tasting every afternoon with local Mendocino wines. They are extremely helpful at getting dinner reservations or tips on what to see and do. There is a hot tub in the forrest that is wonderful in the morning as the sun is coming through the trees. |

Adorable, Great Value, and Beautiful! Jun 28, 2008
I stayed at the Pacific Mist for the first time last month (may) and it was well above my expectations. New remodeled bathroom, private deck, and very quiet. I loved it and will be going back.

Private, Serene and most of all Affordable Mar 18, 2009
All in all this place is just what I needed to get away from it all.
When I first arrived I was greeted by 2 very kind young women who happened to be the managers. after a quick booking one of them showed me to my peaceful little cabin. the interior was something out of the 50's, and it was in very good and clean condition. That's when I discovered the outside deck, WHAT A VIEW. I could hear the ocean and see the waves between the tall redwoods. immediately i put on some sun screen and headed for the not so distant horizon. the small and secluded beach I found at the end of my trail was amazing, Nobody was there i had the whole place to myself. after my little beachside retreat, I discovered their hidden jacuzzi spa area nestled in a patch of black berrys and redwoods. Everywhere I went I felt as if I were truly disconnected, maybe that's because I was. I will be returning next year and I would recommend anyone who needs an escape to do the same. |

Great Experience! Jan 11, 2009
A great little place near Mendocino, stayed Sunday and Monday nights, and had the whole place to ourselves! Of course this was in January, but it was very refreshing. No cell reception (for Verizon) but we were near the office so we could use the Wi-Fi from our room. The people were extremely nice, and there was a thermostat in the room so it wasn't as cold as you'd expect a cabin to be. They were very accomodating.

Pet friendly relaxing mendocino vacation Apr 29, 2008
Wow ... my wife, son, and two dogs (Jack and Toby) were itching to get out of the Bay Area, and get up to our favorite area in California, Mendocino. We don't make the trip often because we are not a light load, and money is usually an issue ... but after a lot of research I found Pacific Mist Inn. I called the Inn to find out more about what they have to offer, and to verify if they were really Pet Friendly. The Inn Manager/co-owner, Jen, was my first voices and she was SO helpful. She really gave us great information on the phone, and I could tell that we were going to be in good hands.
The resort has very cute cabins that were spaced out, so there was a lot of seclusion. My wife and I noticed that the Pacific Mist Inn had more space around their cabins than almost any of their neighbors. They had some doggie bones waiting in our room for our dogs - which I thought was cute. I remember Jen mentioning that they had just completed some renovations, and it was obvious. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very nice. It's hard to find a place that allows pets, is safe for a little guy (our son is almost 3), has a very cool hot tub nestled in the woods, and has SUCH A GREAT STAFF! The staff really put things over the top, and we had great advice when ever we asked questions. I really liked that they had bbq's there too. I knew I wanted to stay around "home" and not do expensive dinners with my son, who likes to move (not sit) ... not to mentions worrying about our pets, so I loved the idea of BBQing. All you have to do is ask for some briquettes from Jen, and next thing you know you are on your way. I was fortunate to see their honeymoon suite too, Desire. I was speaking with Nancy who is a co-owner, and she was discussing the view and Desire cabin, and she asked me if I wanted to see it myself - and I had time, so I said yes. The cabin is off the general Pacific Mist Inn premise, down the road a few miles. It has a private entrance, and the BEST VIEW EVER IN MENDOCINO! It was absolutely gorgeous. I could tell why it's called the honeymoon suite :) But as a note, I remember her telling me that there are no pets or small children allowed because there is a cliff (the view is looking over the cliff at your own private beach/ocean). And get this, while I was there I saw whales. Every minute or two there was another spout. It was awesome. Overall, I would recommend this for families and couples. Great service, great rooms, great space. |

We checked out of the Ocean View Lodge this morning, stopped for gas, and ate breakfast at a restaurant called "Perko's" which we were unsure about initially, but I said it was probably the Fort Bragg version of "Perkins", and it kind of was. …… Our drive down the coast |
