Good spot on a warm afternoon to enjoy Oolong tea Sep 09, 2011
N24°58'2.97" E121°35'26.61" Also known as PLC Tea Tavern or Red Wood House or Hongwanu Tea House, the denotation Y16 shows the way. This tea tavern is down a flight of stairs to the left of a modern road-level café. It has an old-style redbrick design with two veranda’s overlooking the valley with Taipei 101 in the distance. Staff speaks little English and explains how to prepare traditionally Oolong tea. Beside the tea, the tofu soup with noodles was good. We didn’t like the chicken snack: lots of bone with some meat. The lower veranda was out of order and the toilet was dirty and smelly. Although in need of renovation, a good spot to let the warm afternoon go by.
