Overton Park Reviews

A Park with a lot to offer Jul 04, 2008
Overton Park is a city park with a lot to offer. It is home to the Memphis Zoo, The Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis College of Art, a Golf Course and much more. The Zoo is a day in and of itself, but if you need more to do you could check out the Brooks Museum. Between the Parks two many features you will find a Memorial to people from Memphis who have served in the US Armed Forces, and the Overton Park Shell. The Shell is an outdoor concert venue, Elvis Presley played there back in 1954. It is currently being renovated but should be reopened this fall, and will play host to about 50 free concerts a year. Assuming this isn't enough for you there is also the nine hole golf course in the park or you could wander on the trails through the Arboretum. Overton Park is a must for visitors and Memphians alike.
