Best way to admire Nazca Lines - Overflying Nazca lines Feb 15, 2008
This is by far the best way to see the Nazca Lines.
Nazca is a cheap place, but the exception is this. Overflying the Nazca lines is expensive, specially during the high season, but you can always bargain for a better price.
Besides paying for the flight, you will have to pay an airport fee, which is cheap. There have been some safety issues with the planes. So be sure to choose a safe one. Maybe it will cost a bit more, but safety is priceless.
You have to go to the "Maria Reiche" Airport - Vista Alegre District. Once you are there and before boarding you will see a video about the Nazca Lines and what to expect.
The planes are small, just for 6 people including the pilot. So, they move quite a lot and in order to show you the Nazca lines the best, the pilot will turn fast and several times.
-Some people get motion sickness. Do not eat before doing it.
-the flights depend on the weather conditions, so there is not 100% fixed schedule.
