An enormous complex on Waikiki, the Outrigger on the Beach is like a tiny, self contained civilization. The hotel sits right on Waikiki Beach, but also fronts Kalakaua Avenue, so you can swim or shop with equal ease. Of course there are plenty of shops and swimming pools right on campus, so there is no need to leave the grounds (if you don’t understand what travel is all about). As loathe as I am to entertain luxury, my family had a great time here. There was nothing but “aloha’s” from the dedicated staff, the rooms were clean and well appointed, and every facility on site was spot on.
Don’t recall what we paid for this outlandish extravagance, but there were no regrets. We fully realized the benefits from staying in a top notch resort in paradise.  Part of the Hawaii 101 travel blog |

 Functional hotel in great location Oct 17, 2005
We actually stayed at the Outrigger on Waikiki beach for a day as we were catching a late night flight home. The rooms themselves were pretty basic and furnished in the cheap Hawaiian style. However the location of the hotel was excellent right ...read entire review at TravelPost.com
