Great experience staying in this Hotel Dec 25, 2014
Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge

If you are traveling to Uluru then choose of hotels or guest house is very limited, so considering my budget and outdoor activities I planned to perform played a role selecting this Outback Pioneer Lodge. Not that far from the airport a 5 -7 mins drive will do. As a guest at the Lodge you can use free Ayers Rock Airport transfers and a free resort shuttle bus that will help you get around. Since I rented a car so did not use them at all, but saw the bus gets crowded particular time of the day.

I got one of the budget rooms without a bathrooms, wired experience while heading to the common bathroom 100+ feet away in the middle of the night, luckily during my multiple trips to the bathroom did not step on any snake or that sort of wild animals. Positive side is that definitely made me not to drink beer in the evening. Rooms were clean though with an air-condition which was a must because it gets hot during the day, common room with television and internet access, a communal self-catering kitchen (very interesting even I did not use it but it’s great to know) and shared self-service laundry facilities, not to mention a common shower kind of interesting too. This Hotel also has access to all the facilities in the resort like swimming pools, resort town square shops, gas station, tennis courts, visitor centre, tour desk etc. I think this is perfect for the budget minded traveller

Evening get more interesting when the common area gets crowded with travelers from all over enjoying beer and some outback delights at the do-it-yourself Outback BBQ, or buffet dinner and live music. Great place to meet people. I also liked the hotel viewpoint from where you could have a beautiful view of Uluru and Kata Tjuta from distance.

Budget Place in the Uluru Jun 04, 2010
Voyages Outback Pioneer Hotel Yulara - Uluru

Stayed here in Uluru for 2 nights so we could take in the Ayers Rock and Olgas.

Overall very basic accommodation as the rooms were like prison cells. More of a campsite style vs a hotel or anything. As there is a separate building for bathroom and shower. However the shower facilities offered very hot water and laundry service was included as well.

Very good pool area is here and a nice eating and entertainment area. Very good location as walking distance to the downtown shopping area.

There is a nice walking path that goes up to a viewing platform of Ayers Rock. Very good spot to watch the sunrise and sunset anytime.

Very good lay out and atmosphere was quite interesting here despite being very basic style of rooms.

I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for budget accommodation so they could experience Ayers Rock with full potential. Good for backpackings, singles, and some couples. Perhaps for families as well, if on a budget, but the bar area would get quite loud if children are present.

Expensive hotel in the outback Aug 17, 2009
The resort has several places to stay, varying of course in price range. We drove passed several very good looking accomodations. We thought our hotel would be good as well.

Well, all in all it was okay/good, but don't expect too much. The Outback Pioneer looks like a camp with basic buildings and rooms. The room was clean, as well as the bathroom and the beds were good enough for the night.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the checking in was not fast.

The complex has a small store, selling souvenirs and clothing, mainly clothing for use in the outback and/or hikings. The nearest supermarket was at the entrance of the resort at the 5 star hotel, a shuttle bus was driving regularly, but too small.

There was a small sort of snackbar which sold sandwiches and fastfood, while the restauant we had dinner was buffet style. The menu was limited and the food was good, but not for everyones liking. Don't be a picky eater ;)

Like I said earlier, all in all it was okay/good, but for the price per night, it seemed too high.

Relax and Travel in ayres Rock May 07, 2009
It was a fantastic place to stay while in Ayres Rock. It has a campground place to it too. They will book all of your tours for you and recommend some. The kitchen was quite unique. Ive never seen anything like it. They do have a restaraunt but it was cheaper to eat at the kitchen. It hard to explain what the kitchen is. The pool though is freezing cold and has no heat. Im not too sure on the pricing but it did seem affordable. They also do have cribs if you have a young baby/toddler.
