Oulu Glass Brule Reviews
Oulu Glass Apr 29, 2008
At Oulu Glass in Brule, just 1 hour away from Duluth-Superior or Bayfield or to the south, Hayward, you will find hidden in the Northwoods of Wisconsin a surprising selection of beautiful glassworks. Oulu Glass also offers glassblowing workshops and glassblowing classes for those wishing to learn more about this wonderful art form.
Located just a few minutes off scenic Highway 13, the Lake Superior Circle Tour, and the famous Brule River. The gallery is well stocked from May 1 through December. All of the the work is created by Anton (Jim) and Sue Vojacek and their family. This is not a consignment gallery.
Working in their studio in Oulu, Jim and Sue create original pieces of art glass. Jim began blowing glass in the late 60's while a pottery student in college. Interest in the glazes on the pottery lead him to the pursuit of glassblowing.
Sue works mostly with stained glass using glass that is blown in the studio to create interesting 3-D glass panels.
Whether you are browsing the studio or watching as the artists blows and designs his next masterpiece, this studio is absolutely fantabulous! I do not make a habit of collection material things, this Studio and his creations definately push that desire. The selection of bowls, balls, platters, vases and so much more. It is a delight and if you are ever in Wisconsin you should stop in and if you aren't in Wisconsin go to their website www.ouluglass.com.
